"Use Me, God": Pastor Rick Warren Calls a Generation to Finish the Task at The Send in Finland
On June 7, 2025, Pastor Rick Warren stood before thousands of young people in Helsinki, Finland, at The Send—a global movement mobilizing the next generation to live missional lives. With passion and clarity, he called a generation not to waste their lives, but to invest them in what matters most: the Word of God and the eternal destiny of people.
The spiritually charged audience gathered at Helsinki Ice Hall as part of The Send Finland, held in conjunction with the Go & Make! Conference under the broader Pentecostal World Conference (June 4–7). The event—targeting youth and young adults, but open to all—drew between 4,000 and 6,000 participants, with hundreds more engaged in the preceding Send Week outreach.
“There are only two things that will last forever,” Pastor Rick shared, “God’s Word and people. So the greatest use of your life is to invest it in what will outlast it.”
Speaking directly to the core of Finishing the Task’s vision, Rick challenged listeners to move beyond survival and success toward a life of eternal significance by fulfilling God’s purposes—especially the Great Commission. He reminded the crowd, “You were made by God and for God, and until you understand that, life will never make sense.”
The highlight came when thousands stood to make a bold, personal covenant: to commit their lives to obeying the Great Commandment and fulfilling the Great Commission. Pastor Rick led them in a powerful prayer of dedication, inviting everyone to declare: “Today, I’m pledging my life to help finish the task Jesus assigned to us.”
This moment in Finland marked another step in the global movement to see the Great Commission completed by 2033—the 2,000th birthday of the Church.
As Pastor Rick prayed over the crowd, he reminded them that God never stops loving them and that his unstoppable love is what empowers us to share that love with the world. “Lord,” he prayed, “Use me, God. Use me for Jesus’ sake, for the Gospel, for the glory of God.”
This event served as a recommissioning, preparing a young generation to finish the task of “making disciples of all nations by 2033.” The Send Finland was just one of many places around the globe where we are witnessing this new generation rising to say: We will finish the task.Watch Pastor Rick’s message at the Send here.
