Reaching the World for Christ - Mike Silva & the Mission of Finishing the Task
Mike Silva has spent a lifetime proclaiming the hope of Jesus Christ to the nations. Through Mike Silva International (MSI), his evangelistic ministry has reached multitudes across the globe with the Gospel—uniting cultures, generations, and communities in the name of Jesus. Today, Mike is taking that passion to new heights as an ambassador for Finishing the Task (FTT), a global movement with one audacious goal: that everyone, everywhere, would hear the Gospel by the 2,000th anniversary of the Church in 2033.
“It’s one of the greatest honors of my life to be a part of Pastor Rick Warren’s FTT vision,” Mike shares. “To train, equip, mobilize, and cast vision to leaders who will raise up more leaders—that’s the heartbeat of what we do.”
Recently, Mike played his role as an ambassador for FTT as a collaborator at a multi-national, multi-lingual outreach in Zimbabwe called Love Zimbabwe put on by the Global Network of Evangelists (GNE). This cooperative initiative brought together churches, ministries, and volunteers from around the world to share the Gospel and disciple new believers, including children, women, men, and even prisoners. Whether it was training pastors, holding music festivals, or using BMX stunt shows to draw in the crowds, the message was clear: Jesus saves—and everyone deserves to hear.
In Mike’s words, “We do everything we can—music, sports, dance, drama—anything that helps us connect with people so we can share the Gospel. We’re convinced that children can reach children better than adults ever could. So we teach them to share their faith and become multipliers of the mission.”
That same passion took Mike and his team at MSI to San Andrés Island, Colombia, where they ministered in Spanish to leaders and locals alike, encouraging, motivating, and training believers to carry the Gospel and the FTT vision across Latin America.
At the core of Mike’s calling is this simple truth: The Gospel is for everyone. And as an ambassador for Finishing the Task, he’s doing everything in his power to make sure everyone hears it.
“As an ambassador, this is my assignment,” Mike says. “To proclaim, to train, and to mobilize others to do the same. That’s just the one thing I can do—and I’ll keep doing it until the whole world knows.”
