Proclaiming Hope in El Salvador: Mike Silva Mobilizes Churches, Reaches Thousands, and Shares the Gospel Behind Prison Walls

In March 2026, evangelist Mike Silva and his team with Mike Silva International joined churches, ministry partners, and global evangelists for a strategic week of evangelistic outreach across San Salvador, El Salvador. The multi-day initiative combined leadership training, public evangelism, youth gatherings, media engagement, and prison ministry — all with a unified purpose: proclaim the gospel clearly, strengthen local churches, and mobilize believers to continue the mission long after the events concluded.

From the earliest days of the outreach, momentum began to build. Pastor gatherings and ministry training sessions brought together hundreds of church leaders and volunteers who were equipped with practical tools for evangelism and discipleship. These times of preparation were essential for laying a foundation for lasting fruit, ensuring that new believers would be connected to healthy local churches and ongoing spiritual formation.

Throughout the week, outreach efforts extended into neighborhoods, schools, and public venues across the city. Youth-focused events, community activities, and evangelistic meetings drew growing crowds, creating opportunities for thousands to hear the good news of Jesus. Music, testimonies, and culturally relevant presentations helped engage people of all ages, while teams of trained counselors stood ready to pray with those responding in faith.

One of the most significant dimensions of the outreach took place behind prison walls. Mike Silva and his team were granted access to minister in two correctional facilities, including the Centro de Confinamiento del Terrorismo (CECOT), the largest prison in Latin America and one of the largest in the world by prisoner capacity. There, the message of hope in Christ was shared with incarcerated men who will most likely never be released.

In these prison gatherings, thousands of inmates listened to the gospel and heard testimonies of transformation. Many expressed a desire for prayer and spiritual guidance, demonstrating the profound impact of bringing the message of redemption into places often overlooked. These moments served as a powerful reminder that the gospel is for everyone — regardless of circumstance, background, or past.

As the outreach progressed, large-scale evangelistic events brought together thousands more participants. A major outreach festival in nearby Santa Tecla became a defining moment of the week, with official police reports estimating that approximately 100,000 people gathered to participate. Festival-style programming featured contemporary music and clear gospel proclamation, creating opportunities for individuals to respond to Christ. The impact extended even further through digital platforms, as event content and evangelistic messages reached millions more across social media. Local churches played a central role throughout the campaign, working together in unity to host events, follow up with new believers, and continue discipleship efforts across the city.

In addition to public evangelism, Mike and his team engaged in extensive media outreach, including radio and television interviews that expanded the reach of the gospel message far beyond event venues. This broader visibility helped amplify the call for churches to unite around the shared mission of making disciples and extending gospel access throughout El Salvador and beyond.

For Mike Silva, the outreach represented both a continuation of his lifelong evangelistic calling and a strategic step forward in his role as an ambassador for Finishing the Task. His focus remains clear: proclaim the gospel, equip leaders, and mobilize believers to multiply the mission.

By investing in local pastors, training volunteers, reaching young people, and even stepping into prison environments to share the hope of Christ, the El Salvador outreach demonstrated how collaborative evangelism can accelerate progress toward the vision of ensuring that everyone, everywhere has the opportunity to hear the gospel.

We’re grateful the the example of believers like Mike who have wholeheartedly embraced the call to make disciples of all nations. As churches across El Salvador continue follow-up and discipleship in the months ahead, the impact of this unified effort is expected to extend far beyond a single week of events — contributing to the growing global momentum toward finishing the task.
