Join Believers Worldwide in Prayer for the Hindu World This November
November 2–8, 2026 | 7 Days of Prayer for Hindus
November 8, 2026 | Global Day of Prayer for Hindus
More than 1.2 billion people around the world practice Hinduism, making it the world’s third-largest religion. While most Hindus live in India, Hindu communities can be found in nearly every country. Many have never had the opportunity to hear a clear presentation of the Good News of Jesus Christ.
This November, Christians around the world are invited to unite in prayer for Hindu people to encounter the love, hope, and salvation found in Jesus.
From November 2–8, believers can participate in 7 Days of Prayer for Hindus, culminating in the Global Day of Prayer for Hindus on November 8, during Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights.
The Global Day of Prayer for Hindus is one of five annual global prayer gatherings organized through the Breakthrough Prayer Coalition, mobilizing Christians across denominations, churches, and ministries to pray for spiritual breakthrough among people around the world.
Seven Days of Prayer for the Hindu World: November 2–8
This year’s prayer initiative invites Christians on a seven-day journey along the Ganges River, one of the most spiritually significant rivers in Hinduism.
The 2026 prayer guide, A Journey Along the Ganges, follows the river from the Himalayas through major cities and communities across India, helping believers learn more about Hindu people, their spiritual traditions, and opportunities for the Good News to reach them.
Each day provides an opportunity to pray intentionally for people and places where the Church is asking God to bring spiritual breakthrough.
A separate children’s prayer guide, From the Himalayas to the Sea, also offers families an opportunity to participate together, helping the next generation develop a heart for God’s mission to reach everyone, everywhere.
Whether praying individually, with family, in a small group, or as a church, Christians everywhere can participate in this week of focused intercession.

Global Day of Prayer for Hindus: November 8
The seven days of prayer culminate on November 8, during Diwali, one of the most important festivals in Hinduism.
Often called the Festival of Lights, Diwali is celebrated with lamps, decorations, family gatherings, and traditions that symbolize the victory of light over darkness.
For Christians, this season provides a meaningful opportunity to pray that Hindu people would encounter Jesus, who declared:
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” — John 8:12 (NIV)
On November 8, millions of believers are invited to join a global, online gathering of worship and prayer focused on the Hindu world.
Beginning at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time, the gathering will bring together Christians from churches and ministries across the globe for 24 hours of prayer, worship, and testimonies. Participants can join for an hour or for as long as they are able.
Together, believers will pray for spiritual breakthrough in Hindu communities, for opportunities to share the Good News, and for the growth of healthy, multiplying churches among people who have yet to hear about Jesus.

How You Can Pray for the Hindu World
As part of Finishing the Task’s commitment to Breakthrough Prayer, we believe that every person deserves to be prayed for by name and have an opportunity to know Jesus.
Here are four ways you can pray during this global initiative:
- Pray for people to encounter Jesus. Ask God to open hearts to the Good News and reveal His love and truth to Hindu people seeking spiritual hope and peace.
- Pray for believers and churches. Pray for courage, wisdom, and protection for Christians serving in Hindu communities, and for healthy, multiplying bodies of Christ to grow where they are needed most.
- Pray for Gospel access. Ask God to open doors for Bible translation and distribution, personal relationships, and other opportunities for people to hear and understand the message of Jesus in their own language and cultural context.
- Pray for people by name. Consider the Hindu neighbors, friends, coworkers, or families in your own community. Pray for them personally, asking God to help you demonstrate His love through genuine friendship, kindness, and compassion.
Join a Global Movement of Prayer
The vision of Finishing the Task is to see everyone, everywhere have an opportunity to know Jesus by Pentecost 2033. Breakthrough Prayer is essential to that mission.
Through the Breakthrough Prayer Coalition’s five annual global days of prayer, Christians around the world are joining together to intercede for people who have yet to encounter the Good News.
This November, you can be part of that movement.
Set aside time to pray from November 2–8, invite your church or small group to participate, and join believers around the world on November 8 for the Global Day of Prayer for Hindus.
