Pastor’s Alliance the Gambia teamed up with The DREAM Church Conference and Finishing the Task to bring the first ever The DREAM Healthy Church Conference to the Gambia on February 1st! Registration for this 1-day gathering designed to equip church leaders and pastors with tools and training for growing healthy churches and mobilizing members to reach the world for Christ had to be capped when the venue reached capacity. We were thrilled to see over 1,200 pastors and church leaders from the Gambia and neighboring countries convened in this 90% Muslim country to learn how they can be a part of the Great Commission 2033 goals!
The event was organized in large part by Pastor Brian Moss of Oak Ridge Church in Salisbury, MD who has been coaching pastors in the Gambia for a number of years. When Pastor Brian was suddenly unable to attend, Pastor Ryan Nunez, lead pastor of Palm Valley Church in Phoenix west valley, stepped into teach from his similar depth of experience in the Healthy Church principles. Here was what Pastor Ryan had to say about the historic event:
“The response from the pastors and leaders who attended the Healthy Church One – Day conference was overwhelming. Pastor Brian had them hooked with his livestream introduction and the first session he pre-recorded. It set an incredible foundation for the day as the team dove into what it means to be a Healthy Church and why that is fundamental to the goals of Finishing the Task. I spent time during the breaks, lunch, and after the conference connecting with countless pastors who reiterated two things:
1) The day was a statement of unity in the Body of Christ in Gambia that they had never experienced before. We were told that this was the largest gathering of pastors in the history of Gambia. (over 90% of the population of The Gambia is Muslim)
2) They are excited to implement the principles of Healthy Church because they want to be part of completing the mission of FTT.”
