Everyone Can Share Jesus With One Person on GO Day, May 23rd

This year, on Pentecost Saturday May 23, believers around the world will unite for one simple purpose: to share the gospel.

This global moment is called GO Day, led by GO Movement, a Great Commission Ally committed to mobilizing every believer to share Jesus.

What Is GO Day?

GO Day is a global initiative calling believers everywhere to share Jesus with others—personally, intentionally, and boldly. The vision is simple: mobilize the Church so that every person has an opportunity to hear about Jesus through someone they know. This moment of global witness is built on a powerful conviction: Everyone can reach someone.

GO Day is positioned on the Church calendar just before Pentecost Sunday, a time when the Church remembers the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the birth of bold witness. GO Day invites us back into that same pattern:

  • A unified Church
  • A simple act of obedience
  • A global movement of witness

Steps for Pastors and Church Leaders to Lead Their Church

GO Day is a simple but powerful opportunity to encourage your church members to share their hope with those in their lives. It creates a natural inflection point for rallying your congregation to do their part toward the B:Believers goal of Finishing the Task – that every nonbeliever would hear a personal testimony from a believer by 2033.

Setting up GO Day in your church is as easy as these 5 simple steps:

1. Cast Vision

Help your church see the bigger picture of God’s heart for the lost. Share how every believer is called to be a witness and how one conversation can change a life.

2. Call to Action

Challenge every member to name five people in their life who need Jesus. This step makes it personal and real.

3. Lead a Prayer Season

Prayer prepares hearts. Lead your church in focused, daily prayer for their five people — from Easter all the way to Pentecost.

4. Equip Your People

Remove barriers by making it simple. Help people prepare their 3-part testimony story:

      1. Before Christ: What it was like
      2. How I met Christ: What happened
      3. After Christ: What it’s like now.

Everyone has a story — you get to help them tell it. Reinforce that sharing can be natural and relational and remind them they don’t need to be experts—just willing.

Watch Pastor Rick’s tips for sharing your testimony for extra inspiration.

5. Set Expectation

Create an atmosphere of faith and anticipation. The goal is simple: one person, one conversation about Jesus. That’s it.

6. GO Day – May 23rd

On Pentecost weekend the Church steps out together in faith or a global moment of believers sharing the gospel.

7. Celebrate

The next day, Sunday, gather your church to celebrate what God did. Share testimonies, reinforce obedience (not just outcomes), and cast vision for what’s next. Encourage ongoing evangelism beyond one day. What is celebrated gets repeated.

4 Simple Steps to Participate in GO Day

Any believer in any part of the world can participate in this global day of sharing with these 4 simple steps:

1. Pray

Our Greatest Effort in Evangelism is Prayer. Before you step out, lift it up. Ask the Holy Spirit to prepare hearts — yours and the person you’ll talk to. Prayer is the foundation of every gospel conversation. Ask God:

    • Who do you want me to try to reach
    • Give me boldness and love
    • Open up conversation opportunities

See if you can think of five people to be praying for specifically in the lead up to GO Day.

2. Prepare

Preparation turns intention into readiness. Prepare how you can simply share your story and the gospel.

Your personal testimony is one of the most powerful bridges to sharing the Gospel. It’s your real experience of how God changed your life — no one can argue with that.

Get ready intentionally:

    • Think through your story – what life was like before Jesus, how you met him, and what your life is like now
    • Be open to how God may lead
    • Look for opportunities in everyday life

Watch Pastor Rick’s tips for sharing your testimony for encouragement.

3. Share

Step out in faith:

    • Start a conversation
    • Show genuine interest in the other person and their life
    • Share your story
    • Talk about Jesus and what he’s meant in your life

It doesn’t have to be perfect—just faithful.

4. Celebrate

Whether a someone steps across the line of faith or not, stepping out in faith is something to rejoice in. You were obedient to the call — and that’s awesome! After all, this isn’t just about one day; it’s about the start of a lifestyle of sharing Jesus. For many people, it might take multiple instances of hearing about Jesus to make a decision – you never know how God will use your efforts.
