Baptists in Denmark Launch National Movement Toward 2033
Baptist leaders across Denmark are embracing the shared vision of seeing the gospel reach everyone by 2033 through their national launch of the Acts2Movement — the Baptist World Alliance’s expression of the broader Finishing the Task 2033 vision.
Gathering April 24–25 in Snoghøj, overlooking the waters of Denmark, pastors, denominational leaders, ministry partners, and believers came together not simply for another conference, but for the launch of a national movement centered on prayer, Scripture, witness, compassion, neighbor-love, and global solidarity.
The launch reflects a growing global momentum as churches and networks around the world contextualize the 2033 vision within their own traditions and communities. Within the Baptist World Alliance, the Acts2Movement provides a framework built around five “paths” that closely mirror the heart of the Finishing the Task goals: helping believers engage Scripture, share their faith, care for their neighbors, stand with the persecuted church, and live missionally in everyday life.
Denmark’s Baptist leaders approached the initiative with intentional collaboration and local ownership from the beginning. A national leadership team was formed, conversations took place over many months to discern how the movement could best fit the culture, rhythms, and needs of the Danish church. Moving forward, local church “ambassadors” will be identified to help carry the vision into congregations across the country.
The Danish team also chose to launch the movement in phases, beginning with the “Bible Path” as the foundation for the first year. Plans include a shared Bible reading app launching August 30, 2026, coordinated preaching themes, devotional resources, and national rhythms that churches can adapt locally while remaining united around a shared vision.
Pastor Kyle Henderson — who serves both as Director of the Acts2Movement for the Baptist World Alliance and as a representative for Finishing the Task — helped lead the launch gathering and challenged churches to recover the courage and calling of the early Church.
“The church was never meant to become a museum,” Henderson shared during the gathering. “It was meant to be a rescue station.”
Drawing from the life of the apostle Paul, Pastor Kyle called believers beyond comfortable faith and toward deeper surrender, obedience, and mission. He reminded participants that many people still do not know the joy and freedom they were created for in Christ because no one has yet told them.
Throughout the weekend, Danish leaders presented each of the five Acts2Movement paths through practical stories and local examples. The Bible Path emphasized helping believers engage Scripture together consistently through a two-year Bible reading plan and small group discussion model.
The Witness Path focused on ordinary believers sharing their personal testimonies in natural and relational ways. The Neighbor Path highlighted how homes, meals, prayer, and local relationships can become places of mission and hospitality.
The Care Path showcased compassionate outreach through scouting ministries, family networks, and practical community care for vulnerable people. Finally, the Freedom Path reminded churches of their connection to persecuted believers around the world and the call to pray, support, and stand alongside the global Church.
One of the clearest themes throughout the gathering was that the movement is meant to be accessible and participatory. Churches are encouraged not to wait for a “perfect” strategy before beginning, but to start where they are, use what they already have, and take practical next steps together.
The launch gathering included worship, storytelling, walk-and-talk discussions, communion, prayer, and commissioning. Rather than presenting a top-down program, leaders consistently emphasized shared ownership and local adaptation.
Denmark’s launch serves as another encouraging example of how the broader 2033 vision is taking root globally through contextualized expressions within different church networks and traditions. As the Baptist World Alliance continues mobilizing churches through the Acts2Movement, Denmark is now stepping forward with a unified national strategy to help believers engage Scripture, live missionally, and participate together in the fulfillment of the Great Commission.
