Anchoring Women for Generations: A First-of-Its-Kind Gathering in Kenya

What does it take to ensure the next generation knows the Lord?

That question was at the heart of Ridgeways Baptist Church’s first-ever women’s conference in Nairobi, Kenya. Held April 24–26, the gathering brought together women from across church traditions to be encouraged, equipped, and anchored in their faith for lasting Kingdom impact.

Centered on the theme Anchoring Her for Generations, the conference drew inspiration from Judges 2:10: “another generation arose after them who did not know the Lord nor the work which He had done for Israel.”

The warning found in that verse remains relevant today. If the gospel is to reach every people and every generation, believers must intentionally pass on their faith, disciple others, and raise up new leaders who will continue the work of God’s mission.

Hosted by Ridgeways Baptist Church, the event welcomed women from a variety of local churches and ministry backgrounds. Although organized by a Baptist congregation, the conference was intentionally broad in its reach, creating opportunities for women from different Christian traditions to gather around a shared commitment to Christ and his mission.

Throughout the three days, participants explored how to remain anchored in Christ in every area of life—including family, relationships, the workplace, wellness, and spiritual growth. The conference featured an all-female lineup of speakers, including Finishing the Task team member Lisa Pak, who encouraged attendees to recognize their God-given influence and embrace their role in helping fulfill the Great Commission.

The event was especially significant because it marked the first women’s conference in the history of Ridgeways Baptist Church. Church leadership fully supported the gathering, reflecting a desire to invest in women who are making disciples, strengthening families, serving their communities, and helping advance the gospel.

The energy throughout the conference was unmistakable. Women from local churches, ministry networks, and the broader Christian community gathered to worship, learn, and encourage one another. New relationships were formed, fresh vision was shared, and participants left with a renewed sense of purpose for the season ahead.

FTT’s Lisa Pak shared, “When women are released into the fullness of their potential as daughters of God, made in His image and filled with His Holy Spirit, the kingdom impact compounds and cascades through the generations. And this gathering, here at Ridgeways, reinforces that truth. May His daughters, here and everywhere, rise up being anchored in the generations of the Living God!”

As the global Church works toward ensuring that everyone, everywhere has an opportunity to hear the gospel, gatherings like this play an important role. The Great Commission will be fulfilled through ordinary believers who faithfully live out their calling where God has placed them. When women are equipped to disciple others, lead ministries, strengthen families, and engage their communities with the love of Christ, the impact extends far beyond a single event.
