From Easter to Pentecost: A Global Opportunity to Reach the World
Every year, the 50 days between Easter and Pentecost mark a powerful window in the life of the Church.
It begins with the resurrection—and ends with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2, when ordinary believers became bold witnesses and the Church was born.
What if the global Church reclaimed those 50 days with fresh intentionality?
That’s the vision behind the Easter to Pentecost movement—a growing global initiative uniting believers across nations, denominations, and ministries around one simple calling:
Every believer a witness.
The Easter to Pentecost initiative is mobilizing Christians around the world to pray and share the gospel in personal, digital, and public ways during this season.
This is not about a program. It’s about activating the Church.
Â
A 50-Day Window of Gospel Opportunity
Between Easter and Pentecost, millions of believers across more than 125 nations are stepping into a shared mission:
to pray for the lost and share the Good News with those around them.
The invitation is simple—and urgent.
Every day, you interact with people who may never have heard the Good News.
Every conversation is an opportunity.
Every relationship matters.
For these 50 days, believers are encouraged to intentionally step into those moments—to pray, to listen, and to speak.
Because the truth is:
God has already placed people in your life that only you can reach.
Â
The Call for Every Believer
This movement is built on a conviction we return to again and again at Finishing the Task:
The Great Commission is not the Great Suggestion.
So what does participation look like for individuals?
1. Pray for Nonbelievers
Begin with prayer.
Identify 3–5 people in your life who don’t yet know Jesus.
Pray for them daily by name.
Ask God to open doors, soften hearts, and give you boldness.
Breakthrough prayer is not optional—it’s foundational.
2. Live Ready for Gospel Conversations
This is not about pressure—it’s about readiness.
Look for natural opportunities:
-
- a conversation at work
- a moment with a neighbor
- a question from a friend
Â
Sometimes, a simple story of what Jesus has done in your life is enough to open a door.
You are not called to be a salesperson.
You are called to be a witness.
3. Take a Step of Faith—Leading to GO Day
All of this builds toward a global moment:
On this day, believers around the world are encouraged to share the gospel with at least one person.
Imagine the impact:
Millions of believers, in every nation, sharing the same message on the same day.
This is what it looks like when the global Church moves together.
Â
A Call to Church Leaders
If you’re a pastor or ministry leader, this is a moment to lead your church into action.
Too often, evangelism is something we talk about—but not something we consistently practice.
GO Day was created to change that—to give churches a clear, unified opportunity to mobilize their people.
Â
Here’s the opportunity:
1. Build It Into Your Calendar
Don’t let this moment pass by unnoticed.
-
- Mark the 50 days from Easter to Pentecost
- Plan intentional emphasis on prayer and outreach
- Highlight GO Day as a church-wide activation moment
Â
What gets scheduled gets done.
Â
2. Equip Your People for Personal Evangelism
Your congregation doesn’t need more information—they need activation.
Provide simple, practical tools:
-
- How to share your testimony
- How to start spiritual conversations
- How to invite someone to church

3. Lead by Example
People will follow what you model.
Share your own stories.
Take steps of faith publicly.
Celebrate obedience, not just results.
When leaders go first, churches move.
Â
4. Create a Culture of Ongoing Mission
This isn’t meant to be a one-time event.
The goal is long-term culture change:
-
- From spectators to participants
- From programs to people
- From occasional outreach to everyday witness
Â
Because the mission doesn’t end at Pentecost.
Â
This Is the Moment
Jesus’ final command was clear:
“Go and make disciples of all nations.”
And today, we are living in a generation where that mission can be completed.
The Easter to Pentecost season gives us a focused, global opportunity to act—with unity, urgency, and faith.
So the question is simple:
Who will you pray for?
Who will you reach?
And how will your church respond?
Let’s not miss this moment.
Let’s step into it—together.
