Casting a Renewed Vision for Reaching Asia -
Asia Strategic Digital Forum 2025

May 26-27th saw a historic moment in Japan as for the first time since the pandemic, pastors, leaders, media strategists, and mission innovators gathered under one roof in Tokyo for the Asia Strategic Digital Forum 2025—a catalytic space where vision was cast, relationships deepened, and strategies aligned toward one united goal: advancing Gospel movements through media innovation in Asia.

This event represented a Spirit-led re-entry into collaboration after years of disruption, where the Church in Asia took a bold step forward together.

Why This Moment Mattered

This was the first major post-pandemic gathering of pastors and leaders in Japan—a clear sign that the Church is reawakening to its regional and global calling. There was a powerful sense of humility, hunger, and holy urgency as we reflected on what’s at stake: Asia’s 76% unreached population, and the opportunity before us in this digital age.

Highlights From the Forum

Day 1: Innovation with Purpose
We explored foundational shifts in city movements, digital storytelling, and contextual co-creation. Highlights included:

  • Tim Wong emphasized urban Gospel movements and how Singapore is pioneering neighborhood transformation through the “5 Opens” model.
  • Andy Game inspired unity to reach the unreached with seasonal campaigns like “50 Days: Easter to Pentecost.”
  • Young Cho outlined the “4 Greats,” a rallying call for harvest, unity, and breakthrough.
  • Media tools like The Chosen and localized platforms (e.g., Japan’s Matthew 13:23) showed how storytelling is shaping spiritual conversations.

Day 2: Mobilization in Motion
The second day shifted to activation—how we finish the task by 2033:

  • FTT’s Dr. Lisa Pak laid out the Vision 2033 framework: Bible access, believers mobilized, churches planted, breakthrough prayer, and love in action.
  • New partnerships were spotlighted (e.g., YouVersion, Faith Comes By Hearing, ONE HOPE) with a focus on Gen Z and digital literacy.
  • Mental health and emotional wellness emerged as critical themes in reaching Asia’s next generation.
  • The need for shared metrics and collaborative planning (KPIs, OKRs) was a clear takeaway for sustainable progress.

Japan’s Role in What’s Next

As hosts, Japan played a strategic and symbolic role. The gathering here wasn’t accidental. Japan, often seen as hard soil for the Gospel, became a launchpad for fresh hope and renewed commitment.

The message was clear: “The fields are ready, and the laborers are rising.”

This was a reset moment for the Church in Japan—moving from isolation to intentional collaboration, from post-pandemic caution to bold digital mission. We saw Japanese leaders step forward with new energy, eager to be part of what God is doing across Asia.

Looking Ahead

Out of the gathering, new and renewed commitments were made to:

  • Establishing regional media innovation hubs
  • Participating in seasonal campaigns like the 50 Days initiative
  • Investing in Gen Z tools and research
  • Creating localized content through co-creation studios
  • Aligning with others using shared impact measurement frameworks

This is not just about technology. It’s about obedience, unity, and urgency—to finish the task, together.

The dream of reaching every people group with the Gospel by 2033 feels a little more possible now, not because of any single strategy, but because the body of Christ is showing up, together.

Let’s keep pressing forward—city by city, screen by screen, heart by heart – until the whole world hears.
