God Opens Doors for FTT in Cuba with a Miraculous Connection

The FTT team experienced a powerful reminder this week that God is working behind the scenes to create answers to our prayers before we even ask! Latin America leader Hector Tamez shared the story of how God paved the way for the Finishing the Task vision to reach the nation of Cuba, a country where Hector used to visit that is challenging to reach for much of the world.

“I told my wife over breakfast this weekend, ‘I’m really praying that God opens the doors to Cuba again. That country is still so much in my heart,’” Hector said.

They prayed together intentionally. Just hours later, Hector got a call from a pastor friend he hadn’t spoken to in years. This pastor had just seen a video about Finishing the Task online, heard about Hector’s recent gatherings with pastors, and wanted to get involved. This friend shared that he had moved from where he used to live near Hector, and while he’s located in the US, his primary ministry is elsewhere.

Where is this pastor ministering now?

Cuba.

“He said, ‘Can I help you do something there?’ I couldn’t believe it — I had just prayed about Cuba that morning!” Hector shared.

Now, through this God-facilitated connection, a meeting is being arranged with 16 denominational leaders in Cuba this July. With one bold prayer, a door flung wide open!

We are witnessing God move – stirring hearts, reviving old connections, and opening nations to the message that he wants his lost children found.

This story is a powerful reminder of how he intervenes when we follow his lead! What doors might God want to open for the gospel in your life?
