2025 Breakthrough Prayer Coalition Update

How united prayer is accelerating Bible translation, discipling nations, and opening doors for the gospel in places once thought unreachable.

Across the Finishing the Task movement, we recognize a simple but essential truth: every one of our 2033 goals depends on prayer. Prayer is what accelerates Bible translation, fuels evangelism, strengthens churches, opens hearts, and empowers acts of love in every community. The Breakthrough Prayer Coalition exists because finishing the Great Commission is impossible without a global movement of intercession. And in 2025, God has answered those prayers in extraordinary ways.

In 2025, the ministries that make up the FTT Breakthrough Prayer Coalition each experienced remarkable growth, impact, and answered prayer. While every story is distinct, together they testify to one overarching reality: God is moving among every people and every place—and he is responding to the prayers of His people.

Below is a consolidated look at what God has done this year through Pray for Zero, World Prays, and International Prayer Connect, along with ways you can join us in praying for every person to experience the love of Christ.

Pray for ZERO

Focused prayer for the acceleration of Bible translation

Pray for Zero entered 2025 with a renewed strategic direction—mobilizing a global movement of intercession through their new Ambassador Certification Program. This initiative is multiplying prayer leaders who champion the remaining Bibleless languages and activate prayer inside churches, networks, and nations.

This year has been marked by:

  • Global mobilization through simulcasts and webinars, particularly among Korean and Brazilian believers
  • A growing multilingual rhythm of monthly collaboration meetings
  • New video-based prayer resources used worldwide
  • An end-of-year Bible Day celebration uniting prayer movements around the vision of Scripture for every language

By God’s grace, Pray for Zero enters 2025 celebrating key milestones:

  • 1,000 churches praying for Bible translation
  • 70 hours of weekly prayer being lifted around the world
  • 215,000 prayer warriors engaged
  • Fewer than 500 languages remain with zero Scripture—a remarkable acceleration

The movement is proving what we believe deeply: when prayer for Bible translation increases, Bible translation accelerates.

World Prays

A global prayer movement mobilizing intercession for every person, every school, and every nation

World Prays reports one of its most impactful years ever. In 2025, the movement:

  • Engaged over 100 million believers to pray for more than 600 million people by name
  • Saw African churches adopt nearly 3,000 schools and pray for 1,836,425 children by name
  • Distributed 106,000 training books in 8 languages for pastors and leaders across nine nations, including South Korea, Kenya, Egypt, Canada, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Sri Lanka

World Prays also expanded its global footprint through three new regional hubs—Spain (Europe), Argentina (South America), and Egypt (MENA)—while existing hubs in Guatemala, Kenya, and Sri Lanka continue to multiply leaders and equip national movements.

Local impact highlights include:

  • USA: Prayer leaders equipped to launch 24/7 expressions in 17 states
  • Egypt: 1,900 leaders trained from 40 churches; 24/7 prayer launched and national publishing partnerships prepared for 2026
  • Kenya: Over 2,900 schools adopted; active expansion into Tanzania
  • Argentina: 7,000 churches equipped to pray for their communities by name
  • Guatemala: Nearly 1,000 leaders trained and 750 children received Jesus through partner ministries
  • Spain: Over 50,000 people reached in the first year with the Pray for All strategy

Overall, World Prays saw prayer and evangelism mobilized in 192 nations, showing what becomes possible when churches, networks, and movements unite in persistent prayer for the lost.

International Prayer Connect (IPC)

Uniting global prayer movements to fuel gospel breakthroughs among the unreached

IPC has spent the last five years mobilizing prayer for the completion of the Great Commission through three major initiatives: the Global Family 24/7 Prayer Room, prayer for the world’s 110 largest unreached cities, and four global days of prayer focused on major world religions. These efforts culminated in extraordinary spiritual harvest in 2025.

Key global outcomes include:

  • 24/7 online prayer sustained for five years involving 50 nations and 22 languages
  • 55 new 24/7 houses of prayer launched across China, the Middle East, North Africa, India, and Europe
  • 105 of 110 unreached megacities now engaged with prayer walking teams, discipleship movements, and mission mobilization

And the spiritual impact has been profound:

Gospel Movements Growing Rapidly

Underground house churches connected to these prayer efforts have grown to 8.4 million churches with 154 million Jesus followers across 190 nations—a 22% annual growth rate.

Laborers Released

In 2025 alone, 96,000 newly trained workers were sent to prayer walk cities and share the message of Jesus.

Costly, Courageous Faith

The movement saw over 1,900 martyrs this year within a single partner network, evidence of both spiritual resistance and the depth of commitment among believers.

IPC continues to call the global church to pray during the five Global Days of Prayer in 2026, and will launch a new 365-day prayer plan on YouVersion to pray for workers in each of the 110 cities.

A Unified Movement of Prayer—and an Invitation

Taken together, these updates show a powerful reality:
God is uniting the global church in prayer like never before—and He is answering in ways only He can.

Bible translation is accelerating. Entire regions are opening their hearts to Christ. Prayer movements are forming where they have never existed before. Children, pastors, tribal leaders, refugees, and entire villages are encountering the love of Jesus.

As World Prays Founder and FTT Breakthrough Prayer Coalition leader Brian Alarid says, “Without prayer missions loses its power, without mission prayer loses its purpose.”

This is breakthrough prayer.
This is what happens when God’s people seek God’s heart for the nations.
And this is how the Great Commission moves forward.
