10 Days That Can Change the World: A Global Call to Breakthrough Prayer Before Pentecost

As we look toward Pentecost, we’re reminded of a defining moment in the life of the Church.

We read in the book of Acts that the early believers gathered together in unity, waiting on God in prayer. That’s when the Holy Spirit was poured out in power, launching a movement that would carry the gospel to the nations.

Today, we stand in a similar moment of opportunity.

In the days leading up to Pentecost, believers around the world are joining together for a focused, united initiative of prayer for revival:

Power from Above – 10 Days of Prayer

This global prayer moment, supported by the Breakthrough Prayer Coalition and aligned with the heart of Finishing the Task Breakthrough Prayer, is an invitation to contend together for what only God can do.

Why 10 Days of Prayer?

The pattern is biblical. Before Pentecost, the disciples waited in sustained, united prayer. And throughout history, seasons of concentrated prayer have often preceded movements of revival.

This initiative draws directly from that model—calling believers to ten days of focused, Scripture-led prayer leading up to Pentecost Sunday.

This is not just about looking back, however, it’s about believing God for a fresh outpouring of his Spirit today.

Across the world, there are already signs of God at work—revival breaking out in unexpected places, lives transformed, and communities changed.

And yet the need remains urgent:

  • Billions have still not heard the good news
  • Entire cities and people groups remain unreached
  • The global Church needs renewal, unity, and power

This is why we pray. Because prayer is not just preparation for the mission—it is the mission.

What Happens During the 10 Days?

From May 14–24, believers across the globe will unite in daily, guided prayer leading up to Pentecost.

Each day includes:

  • A Scripture focus from the book of Acts
  • Devotionals and real-life testimonies
  • Targeted prayer points
  • A practical “step out” challenge
  • Focused intercession for unreached cities and peoples

Together, we will be praying for key global cities like Algiers, Lagos, Tehran, Delhi, Jakarta, and Beijing, places where less than 1% of the population follows Christ.

Then, on Pentecost Sunday, believers around the world will join in a Global Day of Prayer for Revival asking God to pour out his Spirit across every nation.

Why This Matters for Finishing the Task

The vision of Finishing the Task—to see the Good News reach everyone, everywhere by 2033—will not be accomplished by strategy alone. It will require a move of God.

That’s why one of our core priorities is Breakthrough Prayer—crying out for:

  • Open hearts among the unreached
  • Boldness among believers
  • Unity across the Church
  • A fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit

This 10-day initiative aligns directly with that vision. When millions of believers pray together in unity, something shifts. Hearts are softened, laborers are sent, barriers are broken, and the Church is awakened.

How Individuals Can Join

You don’t need a platform or a program to participate. Just a willing heart.

Here are simple ways to engage:

1. Commit to the 10 days
Set aside intentional time each day to pray using the guide.

2. Pray Scripture-led prayers
Let the Word of God shape your prayers. Access the prayer guide in English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Italian, French, and Indonesian.

3. Look beyond your immediate circle
Pray for unreached peoples, global cities, and the spread of the Good News.

4. Invite others
Ask a few friends or family members to join you. Even one person praying faithfully matters.

How Churches Can Take Part

Churches have a powerful role to play in this moment. Consider how your church can participate:

1. Launch a 10-day prayer emphasis
Encourage your congregation to engage daily.

2. Form small prayer groups
Gather people in homes, online, or at church to pray together.

3. Host a united prayer gathering
Bring your community together for worship and intercession leading up to Pentecost.

4. Collaborate across churches
This is an opportunity for unity in the Body of Christ.

5. Celebrate Pentecost Sunday intentionally
Join the global Church in a day of focused prayer for revival.

Pentecost is a Moment of Opportunity

Pentecost is not just a date on the calendar; it’s a reminder that God pours out his Spirit on praying people. The same Spirit who moved in Acts is still moving today—empowering the Church, transforming lives, and advancing the Kingdom.

The question is not whether God is willing to move.

The question is whether we are willing to pray.

A Simple Invitation

Will you join millions of believers around the world in these 10 days of prayer?

Will you ask God for revival in your life, your church, and the nations?

Will you contend for the Good News to reach every person by 2033?

Let’s come together in unity.
Let’s cry out with faith.
Let’s believe for a fresh outpouring of his Spirit.

And let’s watch what God will do.
