Welcome & Orientation Material

We can’t wait to host you in October for the FTT Global Leaders Gathering this October 25-28, 2022! You were invited to attend because we feel your voice is crucial to help shape the movement to accelerate the work of the Great Commission by AD2033.

We’re looking forward to having you with us at the FTT Global Leaders Gathering in just a few weeks. We have approximately 300 leaders coming from 26 nations who are leading church networks, missional collaborations, evangelism, media, bible translation, church planting and prayer organizations.

Your voice is crucial to the strategic conversations that will accelerate the work of the Great Commission towards 2033. We want to hear what you are doing. We want you to come with a holy imagination of what is possible in your part of the world. We want you to be open to see how collaboration can not only forward the vision the Lord has given your organization but how together we might go further to achieve these big finish lines.

God has given every generation all that we need to do our part in bringing the Good News to everyone, everywhere. Every participant is a Kingdom-minded, strategically connected, respected, influential, and experienced leader in their nation and region, and we are looking forward to having everyone with us.

In order to ensure that you are familiar with the FTT vision and our objectives during our time together, please review the following material before your arrival to the Ranch.

Finishing the Task

Our Vision

What is it going to take to finish the task of the Great Commission?

In the next 365 days, 74 million people will die in the world… and most of them will go into eternity without Christ. The Good News is only good news if it gets there in time – and together we have the opportunity to accelerate the saving work of the Great Commission.

The vision of Finishing the Task is
ALL the Church, doing
ALL Christ commands, in
ALL the world, in
ALL possible ways

Our Goals

Understanding the 4B’s

Since its inception at Billy Graham’s Amsterdam Congress in 2000, Finishing the Task (FTT) has been a collaborative effort. The initial aim of FTT was to ensure that every unengaged unreached people group (UUPG) on the planet had missional workers living with them and engaging them with the gospel. As this goal is finally being accomplished, we look ahead to the work that remains: rallying believers everywhere to the unfinished task of the Great Commission.

Together, we believe we can achieve some audacious Kingdom goals by 2033. These B goals are “finish lines” we’ve seen the Body of Christ converging on across the globe. While challenging, with the power of technology, collaboration, and God’s Spirit at work, we believe they are in reach.

Breakthrough Prayer

Prayer is the key to every FTT goal. We cannot complete Jesus’ Commission without fervent, intentional, and united prayer. Through prayer, we are led and empowered to do what Jesus commands us to do. During our time together, we will set aside time to pray together intentionally, seeking His will and anointing for the work ahead.

Bibles

A Bible translation for all languages, including the deaf community. 1.5 billion people don’t have access to a full Bible and 1800 languages representing 145 million people don’t have a single word of Scripture translated. Our goal by 2033 is to complete a translation of the Bible that will make God’s Word accessible to every language group on earth.

Believers

A strategy to share the Good News with every person. There are those who will go their entire lives without every having had the opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus. Technologial advances and increased collaboration make it possible for every individual across the globe to have access to a life changing presentation of the Good News.

Bodies of Christ

A healthy church for every 1,000 people worldwide. Church planting movements are working together in accelerated ways toward the shared goal of seeing a healthy church for every 1,000 people worldwide. To this end, we aim to see a church planting movement engagement in every people group and every place by Dec 31st, 2025.

Objectives for Our Time Together

We know your time is valuable. During our time together, there are several key objectives we hope to achieve:

UNDERSTANDING THE VISION OF FINISHING THE TASK

Rick Warren, Director of Finishing the Task, will share the vision of FTT.

NATIONAL OWNERSHIP OF THE FTT VISION

We aim to establish national leadership collaboratives around the FTT 4B goals. You have been invited as a national leader, FTT friend, and partner. We know your experience and expertise are vital in encouraging national ownership of Jesus’ commission to the Church and the 4B goals.

EMPOWERING AND RESOURCING NATIONAL LEADERS

It is our goal to come alongside the FTT national leadership collaboratives as you contextualize and implement strategies in your respective nations.

DEVELOPMENT OF A CLEAR PROCESS FOR CONTINUOUS GLOBAL CONVERSATIONS

National Communication and Collaboration - As national leadership collaboratives are established, FTT will aim to create channels of consistent communication for global-national, regional-national, and national-national conversations.

General Program Overview

The program has been designed with this general flow. Vision casting will happen in the morning plenaries, strategic planning in the afternoon breakouts, and worship and fellowship during mealtimes and breaks. The final program will be sent to all of our participants a week or two before the event begins.

How Can You Pray for the Event?

As we all look forward to our time together in October, please join us in prayer to prepare our hearts and minds. Here are some specifics you can be praying for with us:

  • Please pray for safe travels for all of our participants. We have many sisters and brothers coming from all over the world.
  • Please pray for God’s favor and grace as we meet together for four full days.
  • Please pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance as we strategize and plan together.
  • Please continue to pray for those people groups who have yet to hear about Jesus Christ for the first time.

Thank you for taking the time to view the material on this page.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
